A wide smirk crosses Youngdead's face as Rincewater explains the situation. He is not amused by the suffering caused by the attacks, but by the fact that his melee prowess is finally superior to the robed casters' arcane tricks. He nods along as Keryth asks his questions, " I ought to be able to subdue one of these beasts," he adds confidently. As he makes final adjustments to his equipment he asks, " When can we start?" I don't know, have we gone down enough to not be able to breath properly? Have we seen or heard of the elephants and turtle?

The shortness of breath is a very bad sign. Blossom did not plan to go any further if it got too bad. Then she gasped, both at the sight of the titanic beasts, and due to suddenly being barely able to breathe at all. She struggled back up to the "ground" above, breathing heavily and all but collapsing, wondering what in the world it was that she just saw. After a few moments she gets back up and then tries the doors to this building...

So you don't have a way to hurt them indirectly? Drop a rock on them? Drop them in acid? Teleport them to a secondary dimension and give them random quests until they die? Though I guess that last one is less indirect in that you have to teleport them. So to be clear, you want us to bring a dangerous, hostile creature that is totally immune to any sort of spells your people can muster and with unknown abilities past your only line of defense that is currently working in the vague hope that by having one you can figure out how to counter them? ...Seems good to me. Penelope says smiling. Yes, the streets would probably run red with the blood of the innocents soon and then it would be time to take out the butler. Yessss, that would teach him to be standing there when she gets teleported in.

Keama raises a hand.
Why don't we just go look over this wall and check them out? If that's what stopped them, they don't sound all that inventive enough to have hidden after having a go at it?

(OOC: youngdead, no, that was meant for blossom who flew down the stations platforms)
The Lord moves back to his desk and continues his endless job of filling papers as he answers your questions "Yes i am aware that it seems like a difficult task, and so far our attempts are indirect damage have been dodged, it doesnt help that most of our trained military force was exhausted from the wall and the rest is focusing on keeping the calm in the city, they are indeed still on the other side of the wall, attacking it and its numbers seem to grow every day, thats how we figured they come from somewhere, we have a team ready to lavitate you from the wall down and back as needed, they are led by commander Dibbler himself so that should tell you just how much this matters to us, and even if its made of stone it has already sustained a fair bit of damage."
He sighs at the mention of the reward "Assuming you succeed in a timely fashion, we are talking 10.000 gold pieces to each of you, or the equivalent in magic items, scrolls or whatever you wish. But if you take too long ill be forced to use some of that money on repairs, is that acceptable?"
Right after, Mycroft the butler enters just as quickly as he left, carrying a little pink person "Milord!, i found her unconcious on the station, it looks like she tried to fly below it and lost her breath."
Rincewater stands up, shocked from the sudden news, "Darn, she's lucky she's still alive, take her to a room and let her sleep, explain the situation to her when she wakes up, dont leave the room until she does wake up, understood?" with a nod Mycroft leaves in a rush, and rincewater sits down with a sigh of someone who already had too much to deal with "So, any more questions?"

A long thin stream of drool starts to begins to slip slowly unnoticed from Keama's mouth when their employer mentions their reward. His head begins to rapidly calculate what he could do with this bounty.
That... That's a lot of cheddar.
He partially regains his composure.
Right, what are we waiting for, let's go save a city. Or at least enough of it that they can't reneg on the contract.

So the 10,000 gold each is for what exactly? Just capturing one alive right?
I would love to get to know this Dibbler one of these days, since I don't know too many people around these parts.
I trust your not going to levitate us down right in the middle of them are you?
Who's that lil one belong to?
Sounds good to me Keama. Nodding sideways at Keama I walk away from the desk a bit.

"Young lady," Youngdead turns to address Penelope, "this is the plan we've been hired to fulfill." He turns to speak with Rinsewater, "The authorities have restraints in place for when we bring back one of these beasts, I presume." Youngdead smiles as his presumption is answered, then hefts his journeying pack off his shoulders. He starts rummaging through it, finding a smaller sack he begins sorting items between the two bags. "I'm ready to meet this Mister Dibbler, anything further can be explained on the way."

Rincewater answers the last questions before bidding you farewell "Yes, to be precise, capturing one alive before they can get past the wall and cause damage to the city itself, Commander Dibbler is waiting for you outside, he will explain the more tactical aspects of this plan on the way to the wall."He sighs one and continues "That little one was the last adventurer that was hired, apparently she tried to fly below the station's platforms and started to lose her breath, there is not much air down there, Mycroft will explain the situation to her when she wakes up."Blossom You wake up in a cozy room, apparently built inside another larger room, as if it was prepared just for you, your room has no roof so that the butler can look after you and see if you wake up from the other room, you wonder how such a thing was prepared so quickly, but besides that you can assume Mycroft explains to you everything that was already explained to the rest.

Following along.
None of you mind if i cast any spells on you to help you once we see what's going on do you?
Now if they help or not really depends on what we encounter once we get out there.
I may not be able to do much, but even a little bit of help might make a difference.

Blossom opened her eyes, slowly realizing where she was now was nowhere like she thought she was just a moment ago. She notices the structure of the room... well, the room within a room, and a man looking down at her. This was extremely peculiar for her.
"Wha.. where am I?" she asked, having not even the slightest clue. The fact that she happened to be in an entirely different universe or dimension was simply beyond her.
Blossom sat up and shook her head as the butler answered other questions like why she was here. She found it a bit hard to understand, and she had to ask for a lot of clarification. "So... these things are attacking your city, but you don't even know what they are? They aren't people, even?"

Hired? It seems more like a kidnapping with a bribe so we don't resist. Last I checked someone signing their name isn't permission to take them wherever they want. It is money either way, but I'm just saying that money doesn't make it right. Anyways, I'm pretty good at scouting particularly if I can get a good look at them first. Penelope says.

At the entrance waits a hulking man, you almost mistake him for a half orc, but he seems more like a half-golem up close, larger and tougher hes the very reason the castle doors were so big. "My name is Cuttinya Untrot Dibbler, glad to finally see some help."
Hearing Penelope's comment, his eyes narrow in disappointment "Well, if you want to chicken out and leave youre free to do so, this was all written in the contract you clearly didnt bother to read." he breathes deeply and tries to calm down, he clearly hasnt been able to sleep and his now daily job of making sure the beasts dont get past the wall has been too tiring even for him, you can now understand what Rincewater meant by time, its not that the walls can take much damage, but that the entire city's peace depends on one guy constantly repairing them, "Now then, lets not waste time, any questions i shall answer on the way."
At that point Mycroft and Blossom emerge from another door along the hall, ready to join in with the group. All of you depart towards the wall, which by the way, is around 20m tall and does in fact sorround the entire city from world-edge to world-edge. At this distance you cant tell thickness yet.
(OOC: Blossom, Mycroft said pretty much the same, that Dibbler will explain the details on the way)

Walking along to keep up.....
So all of these people here in the city and nobody else to help you Cuttinya?
What doe these lil beasties look like anyways?
Do they surround the entire cities or are they grouped in certain areas?
Turning to the new little addition "Blossom".
So I heard you might have flown below this area, or the station. How did that go for you? Do you recall seeing anything in particular?

"Um. Hello..." the pixie says a bit shyly. The day was getting a bit weirder, as she was meeting all these other people she didn't know too. Not that she didn't like meeting new people, but it just seemed something was expected of her. That she would be.. working with them? To help this city?
Many of the questions she was wondering, the elf had already begun to ask. So she listened for the answer. And when he asked her what she saw 'below' she said, "I thought I saw a turtle. A gigantic turtle carrying the world on its back. Oh! And elephants! Actually the elephants were on the turtle's back, so I guess everything was held up by them? Unless there were mice on top of the elephants..." As she rambled, she thought the whole idea silly herself.
After a tiny laugh she said, "I'm Blossom. Who are you all?"

Turning to Youngdead
And how about you? Are there ways I might be able to help you out besides not getting in your way?
Make it harder for one of those beasties to get away from you. Blind them? Make the ground under them slippery? Make it sticky?
And back to Blossom, you can just call me Keryth
You can just call my Keryth.

Youngdead offers a firm handshake to Dibbler, "Pleased be able to help your people, Mr. Dibbler." He finishes repacking his kit and extends the larger pack to Mycroft as he enters the room, "Please see that this is safely kept." He nods, sure that the man's rank in this society means he ought to listen to Youngdead's request. As Blossom speaks, Youngdead reacts like he didn't expect her to be capable of speech. "A fine hello, Blossom!" His voice booms, but then he half-whispers, "Pleasure to meet you, little one."
As the group leaves he answers Keryth, "Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I leave it in your capable hands to," he wiggles his gloved fingers in front of his face, "do the magical shenanigans." Youngdead smiles, hoping to have not offended the elf.
As the group walks along the streets Youngdead finally breaks his awe-struck silence, "I expect that these beasts are capable hand-to-hand combatants." After the lead up, he asks, "Can any of your casters heal the wounds that I'm more than likely to sustain before they become fatal?"

I'm no healer, but I can help a small bit with that Youngdead. Preferably though, not in the middle of a combat since I would have to hop right in the midst of things to be able to help you there. I'll do that of course if I can, but it would be a pretty tricky proposition.
I just hope my shenanigans are actually helpful. I have a bow of course, but I'm pretty limited in my skills there.

Blossom looks quite concerned as they talk about combat and healing wounds. "I hope it doesn't come to that. I might be able to tend to your wounds, but I can't perform any miracles..."
She continues fluttering along with the others and asks, "So, where are we going?" The group's movement is stopped abruptly by their arrival to the wall. "Um. Oh. That is quite tall for a wall, don't you think?"
