The Village was a tiny dreary looking farming community. It consisted of around 20 little houses, thatched roofs and mud rendered walls. Flocks of sheep and fields of wheat surrounded the cluster of buildings. Only a small granary silo, the village pub and a stone lookout toward stood out. It was this tower that was the cause of the problem. A large humanoid looking man with blueish coloured skin, wearing black leather clothing and chains as decoration lounged on a wooden chair, drinking tankards of beer. Two women, stripped down to their underwear were chained beside him at the top of the tower, one of them was holding a wooden plate with a pile of cheeses and fresh bread on top of it as if she were a table. At the base of the tower a hulking Demon was chained against the wall, snarling at any villagers that came near.
You arrived in the local village tavern, it was fairly well deserted except for a small group of adventurers all standing in a circle near the bar. It is clear that this is the group the villagers are building to take out the trouble in the tower.

Hmmm, very respectable. I have to kill him. Add him to the stabs collection. Pin him up like a butterfly. Yes, quite a good idea. He even has the same skin color as me. Quite rare. What a remarkable beast. Chemosh thinks to himself. He is wearing a set of adventuring clothing with a monocle from the noble set stuck into his eye. His nose is somewhat bulbous and his red hair is barely contained in a hat that keeps the sun off his head. Perfect disguise, ol' chap. No one will suspect I'm not normal at all. Chemosh thought smugly to himself as he entered the tavern.

"So, this is how the other lowlanders live? I don't remember this position in Belletrix's village, perhaps it's a local tradition." Thenal 'Youngdead' Thunukalathi strolled into the village, a stop-over of sorts before returning to visit with Old Flintfinder. "It's certainly odd to keep such a vicious beast at the gate, but I do see the merit of the concubines doubling as furniture." He didn't go near the odd tower, for fear of breaking an unknown tradition. He knew his role as an adventurer in an unfamiliar town - head for the pub, or where ever the most panicked citizens seem to be fleeing from. Since nobody appeared to be fleeing, his sights were set on the pub.
Hunching over slightly to fit through the door Youngdead greets the room warmly before looking up, "Top of the day!" He then sees the group gathered are not the typical smattering of villagers one expects. "Stranger and stranger." He thinks shaking his head. "Name's Young, not lookin' for any trouble. Just passing through and needed a pint and some stew." He hefts his battlehammer from it's hold on his back and rests it with a thud beside him, partially for comfort but mostly as a sign of what could come if that crowd wanted to try anything with him. "You fellows aren't planning anything nefarious, right?" Youngdead says with a half-cocked smirk as he waits to be served.

The barman looks up at the two newcomers. "Here for the bounty? We are willing to offer a share of every last coin this village could muster to any who are willing to take part in taking down the wizard who has taken over the watch tower. He is stealing our food and our women, killing anyone who tries to stop him and summoning evil creatures to terorrise the village. Right now we have over three thousand coin in the pile, though I cannot say it's total worth. Can you help?"

Tyrelia was merely sitting in a corner table, just having a meal and getting supplies to continue her journey, she wasnt really interested in the villages problems, that is until she heard the word summoner, curiosity was bound to be her downfall someday, her friends were waiting outside as always, disguised with a cloack as to only appear human she moved towards the rest of the group "My my, a summoner is it? That explains the demon standing out there, i just knew there was something fun to do here when i saw it, sign me up then, i have my own friends to call against his."

"Right! Well a group of villagers are also gathering in the village square shortly, with the weight of numbers we should be able to take the bastard down no problem!"

"Sounds good to me. I call the hide ol' chap. Need it for the collection." Chemosh said. Note to self, kill all the helpers for a bigger share of the gold. Preferably, after all the enemies are defeated. Chemosh thought. Hopefully, all this crossbow fodder would distract them long enough to distract the demon to get to the man.

"You add this meal to the reward and you've got my services," Youngdead smiles, only partly serious. He finishes up quickly and looks to speak with the others gathering in the pub. "I thought it was out of sorts to have demons and concubines, perhaps these lowlanders have some sense about them. They clearly need to work on their society's structure. Far too weak." A moment passes, "Lead by example."
"Alright boys and girls!" His voice booms above the murmur of the crowd, "We move out now, take this coward down from his perch and reclaim this village." He slings his hammer across his back once again and makes his way to the crowd in the village square. He eyes the oddly inconspicuous looking stranger who was asking about the hide as he heads towards the door but nods politely, introducing himself, "Name's Young, friend. So, you mean to skin this fellow?" His look is approving and inviting, not judgmental.

Tyrelia chuckles at the funny comment and moves with the group, trying not to stand out too much, she answers Young's call to arms simply with "My, does lady count? I'd rather not be left out from such an interesting event." her own joke over, she turns slightly more serious "My name is Tyrelia, nice to meet you."
She moves towards the door, listening to the rest of the conversation "My my, have i met you before or is it just deja vu mister... im sorry, i dont think ive heard your name." she finishes, looking at the man that is so good at not standing out it should actually stand out from it.

Turning briefly from the man he was just speaking to, Youngdead responds, "It'd be a fool who'd turn down your services, m'lady." "A damned fool, wow." He flashes a toothy grin at his own joke then continues, "Tyrelia," he repeats her name with a gentle nod, "well met." The peculiar fellow with the skin fetish is no longer forefront in his mind, he steps up his pace in order to hold the door of the pub open for Tyrelia.

I'm Nigel Thornberry, world renowned beast hunter. You might have heard of me from such exploits as taking down the Beast of Shintoki and the Were-snakes of Sssliper with nothing but my wits, a knife and 20 pounds of bricks. I wish to add this beasts hide to my collection. Chemosh said puffing out his chest proudly. He had no idea where those places were or what he meant but if he said it, it must be true. After all would he lie to himself? Of course not. FbWLDMde1-20+10 on the bluff check for his totally made up accomplishments.

" Hmmmm..." Youngdead pondered the man's claims for a moment, "Hah, no I have not heard of you my friend, but my story is just as far-fetched as yours." " Nigel, well met. I certainly hope you are up for this challenge, we're facing more than a wild beast." His eyes narrow with new-found furiosity, " But he will be gutted like one." Rolled a 9 OOC

Tyrelia ignores the egocentric man, not without first answering curteously as she should "My my, i hadnt heard of anything of the like, but it sounds quite interesting indeed."
Her attention turns to the brutish looking man that actually has a nice set of manners, more than anything she was impressed, as it was not something she expected to find in such a small village "Oh my, thank you very much sir Young, but i believe courtesy isnt the most important thing right before battle, shall we go then?" she finishes her sentence as she walks past the door, still gladly accepting said courtesy.

The Barkeep and the group of fighters move outside the Inn as the introductions are completed. Weapons are drawn and readied. There a group of 6 villagers led by the town Mayor stand ready, nothing more than shortspears and wood shields in their hands. The mayor had a nice quality chain shirt. One of them carried no more than a quartstaff, the town apothecary.
4 fighters, all from the same mercenary band wearing banded mail and wielding Falchions join the group, along with a particularly grizzled veteran fighter similarly equipped leading them. A Halfling Rogue covered in daggers and wearing padded armor, 2 clerics wearing studded leather armor, hammers and light steel shields, An elf ranger with a large bow made of bone, wearing mithral chainmail and carrying a scimitar and light wooden shield all form the rest of the group.
In all 14 others join the group along with the 3 of you (and Tyrelia's 'helpers' if they are here).

As the group pools together and moves into the town square the door to the tower opens. Out steps a massive man, almost 8 foot tall, muscles on top of muscles ripple as he walks in his tight blue cotton pants, a leather jacket the only covering on his top half. He carries no weapons of any sort and the more magically inclined can tell that he has no magic items of any sort visible on him. His skin is a soft blueish colour, filled with scars. His eyes glow a deep red, his hair a long tangled mess of dreadlocks. He cracks his knuckles - well starts to, he seems to be able to crack every joint in his body. Snapping his neck back and forward he groans with pleasure. "Dammit, the main man could get used to this life. If only you lot weren't so soft it could be almost fun." He looks over to the chained up demon, walks over and rips the chain out of the brickwork, pieces of stone and mortar explode from the wall. The Demon moves against Deissrad but is quickly grabbed by the throat and lifted clear into the air. "You do what I tell you understand? Tr to double-cross me and you will spend the next ten thousand years being used to wipe the asses of the lowest demons in hell." The demon - clearly terrified nods and is released. Angry and humiliated the large muscle-bound 10 foot tall red monstrosity turns to face your group. Deissrad pulls a cigar from a pocket and lights it on his stubble-covered chin. He takes a puff. "Ready for a bit of fraggin now I say." He pummels his right fist into his left palm for emphasis.

Huh, looks like a weakling. Was hoping for a real challenge. Smashing. Nigel says. Darkness slowly starts secreting from his body. Stabbing shall happen soon. Yes, so much stabbing. That is what Nigel would want. Kill everything and skin it. Skin it all. Heh Heh Heh.

Tyrelia looks interested at the display between the man and the demon and laughs slightly "My my, that kind of demon is only strong in numbers, and so is your display something of no importance, if mister demon there doesnt have the guts to fight a man then its better to isolate and finish it off first, who knows if it can summon more of him, and more is a real pain."She looks around smirking, "Still, i think we might need a slightly better numerical advantage, isnt that right Rincewind?" as she says that, dark creatures start crawling or walking from various hiding spots, all wearing studded leather armor and carrying a falchion with both hands, holding it right in front between their eyes like ancient soldiers would, they start forming towards the demon, while she takes a quick shot towards the demon and then moves in his general direction. Deissrad moves first, raising his hands in the air he chants for a moment. The ground opens up, burning pools of darkness and fire open up and bRMqPexx2d6 Dretches rise from the depths. Quickly casting a second spell 1d3 Carnage Demons appear in a flash of red light and gore next to their much larger Carnage Demon brother.
The opening shot from Tyrellia strikes the Big Demon, barely managing to scratch it. 2d6·1d3
