Okay, here's a question I didn't see asked yet, and for the sake of covering my bases I'll ask. Are Paladin's locked into the Lawful Good alignment? Or could I play a Neutral or Chaotic Good paladin so long as I don't stray from my code or my God's teachings?
Me, I pretty much just allow any alignment besides evil, but not my game so figured I'd ask.

Paladins need to follow something. Law, Chaos, Good, Evil. The Unearthed Arcana book gives some other Paladin options. In the forgotten realms there are a lot of odds and ends for evil Paladins in the Champions of Ruin book, as some in the Faith and Pantheon's books. Champions of Valor has all sorts of Paladin and Cleric related feats and ACFs as well. Also worth checking out is the compendium of Alternative Class Features. Pretty sure the mods could work something out for you. Which god were you looking at following?

Lathander the Morninglord. He's a Neutral Good god.
But looking over the allowed Homebrew, my question is already answered after all. Grod the Giant's Paladin fix allows for Paladins of any good alignment. Plus, it's an objectively better class than the default Paladin, so I'm building from that. Thanks for the answer though. I bookmarked that Alternative Class Feature page, I didn't have that.

After a fashion. I'm not much of an optimizer, since I build with a story in mind and make sub-optimal choices just to support it (you should see my skills - they're a mess). So this time I took two levels of ranger before transitioning into Paladin. My final build will look more like Ranger 2/Paladin 7/Sunmaster, unless I overlooked something, which is possible too.
