Race: Warforged Scout
Classes: Artificer 5 (Warforged Substitution Levels 1 and 4)
Effective Character Level: 5
Gender: Genderless
Age: 50
Alignment: LN (E)
Deity: Outright worships none but has respect for Oghma
Height/Weight: 3'6'', 60 lbs
Personality: Few know what to expect when they first meet this strange creature from a far away land, but Argudas almost always leaves them a bit on edge. Some feel like they have to play an game of intellectual cat and mouse, others that its social graces, while performed perfectly out of a textbook, lack a certain spark of sincerity. It may give a polite laugh at a joke but rarely tells one itself. Most assume this is due to its mechanical nature and an inability to properly understand fleshling society. Perhaps that is all...
First and foremost, though, Argudas would consider itself an artist and scientist. Adventuring is just a way of honing its skills in search of new knowledge and inspiration. Most would say its understanding of art lacks genuine creativity as its sculptures or paintings appear to simply recreate what exists with no artistry. Perhaps they are right, or perhaps they do not see that perfect order is an art unto itself. It's probably for the best that they don't know about the vivisection...
Appearance: Despite standing eye level with many a halfling, Argudas usually manages to stand out in most crowds, intelligent constructs being quite the rarity. No matter the weather or the time of day, Argudas wears a cloak the covers all but the tips of its feet and face. Despite that its shining red eyes tend to draw gazes. Worse still, most cannot read any emotion on its face. What little else can be seen of its masklike face is a patchwork of odd, seemingly meaningless embossed markings. Anyone who stands nearby for an extended period of time hears a faint whispering.
History: Part of one of the last batches of scouts to roll of the production line of House Cannith, Argudas was taken from its unit to support a local artificer. As a result it doesn't posses the social inclinations normal to warforged due to the isolation from others of its kind. He spend a great deal of time learning the craft with the great deal of free time its eternal activity gave it. During this period Argudas was infused by an unquenchable desire to know. Argudas' young consciousness was shaped by a very organized, scientific setting. It was hard for it to picture a world that didn't operate on laws and order. The question only became: Who makes the rules? It was a question Argudas didn't find a satisfiable answer to in the limited environment of the warforged's formative years. It wasn't long before he ran out of material at the small set up, event those books covering ever more eclectic topics. Its masters were cruel and demanded much of it. Many times Argudas dreamed of vengeance, but it would not go against them while it still owed them its allegiance.
After a number of years the warforged were given status as living beings on par with other races. Its master's, however, refused to let him go. They never woke up the next morning. When guards finally showed up to examine the scene they found nothing missing besides Argudas and a mask it had been forging for its masters.
Argudas left Eberron and wandered the world taking ship from island to island, exploring vast deserts and frozen wastes, high mountains and the depths of the sea. During its travels he slowly forged the mask into something greater. An extension of itself which allowed it to better influence the wills of those around it and increase its abilities. Its travels eventually brought it to the Forgotten realms where the ship recently arrived in Perigaland.
