Ava
Played by: MilesTiden
Character Sheet: Ava
Other Characters: None
Race: Human
Classes: Champion 5
Effective Character Level: 5
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Alignment: CG
Deity: Tymora
Height/Weight: 4'11", 95 lbs
Personality: "When all you have is a Good hammer, everything looks like an Evil nail, set to terrorize the innocent townfolk with their unspecified nail-y machinations... what, why are you looking at me like that?"
Ava is brash, naive, a little on on the... uneducated side, and extremely reckless. Standard issue adventurer stuff, y'know? Having set out at a young age to 'bring the power of light and friendship to the darkness of the world outside!', Ava quickly discovered that she had literally no idea what she was doing. Oops. Of the 'smite first and ask questions later' sort, her reckless nature has gotten her in quite a bit of trouble on many occasions, though it's never lethal. Though she won't admit it, this is likely the reason for her wandering. Her worldview is extremely black and white: she is unwavering in her loyalty to those she considers her friends, and absolutely relentless to those she considers her enemies. (See her character sheet for some more minor personality quirks.)
Appearance: "Keep your eyes on the hammer, and only on the hammer. Now, I'm going to perform a magic trick called 'point blank annihilation.'"
Standing at the rather unintimidating height of 4'11", Ava tries to make up for it in her attitude. She tends to wear simple, nondescript clothing, and composes herself in such a way as to draw attention to her actions as opposed to her appearance. This can oftentimes be rather difficult, considering her shock of bright red hair. (Seriously, that is not a natural color. Where is she even from?) She wears her thick red Travel Cloak as to obscure her figure and facial features, but she's quite distinctive nonetheless.
Perhaps the most unique part of her appearance is that of her Radiant Armaments. The Granzon Maul (which she rarely refers to by name) is an absurdly, almost comically oversized hammer, which she wields with incredible ease. It's made of some sort of strange and extremely dense metal, and has a seal of some sort on both sides. When not in hammer form, it compresses into a small ornate orb of the same metal, made of slowly rotating interlocking parts. When asked how it works, Ava usually mumbles something about gravity, and swiftly attempts to redirect the conversation. The Granzon Plate appears to be some sort of dark red dyed leather, with plates of the same sort of metal as the Granzon Maul protecting vital areas. By its design, it doesn't look like it should be all that efficient, but there's no denying its protective power.
History: "What's it matter to you? Get yer head out of the past, it's not important. All that matters is the present."
Ava is extremely guarded about her personal history, and brushes any inquiries to her past with whatever force the situation requires.
Ava was, essentially, raised entirely for the purpose of her position. She, and a number of other young women, were brought up, taught, and trained by a previous group of Radiant Warriors. Her Radiant Armaments were hand-me-downs from a previous generation of Radiant Warriors, which is something she is a little self conscious about. She chafed under the tutelage of her predecessors, and was never quite comfortable being under their shadow. So, she left, full of idealism and wonder, but bereft of a home and education. Not that she minded. (I'm intentionally keeping this very succinct and very detail-light, as my knowledge of Faerun is fairly limited. I'll gladly come back to this later, but it shouldn't come up in most situations.)
Threads: None yet.
Party Role Proficiency:
Battlefield Control: 2.5. Airstep Ramparts allows her to shape the battlefield to her liking very easily, and will increase in power with levels. Also, Defiant Challenge.
Buffer: 3. Gravity Well lets her provide cover within a 5' radius.
Curiosity: 3.5. She doesn't have much to offer here.
Debuffer: 4. Champion has many debuffing possibilities, but Ava doesn't make use of them. Yet.
Dominator: 3. Power of Friendship is a hell of a drug. (Mostly rolled into Party Face, but has some potential here.)
Game Changer: 4. Nothing major here.
Healer: 1.5. Infinite out of combat healing, but rather meh in combat healing. Will be improving as levels increase.
Meat Shield: 1.5. With Defiant Challenge, she can force enemies to attack her or else get pulled towards her and get knocked prone. Next level she stops being squishy.
Melee Damage: 1. Granzon Maul baby. 2d12+2d6+21 without Overlimit/Cartridges, and can hit a hell of a lot harder with them. Kinda swingy though.
Mobility: 3. Airstep Ramparts can provide bridges, walls, and assorted structures.
Party Face: 1.5. High Charisma, max ranks in Sense Motive, Diplomacy, and Intimidate, and the Power of Friendship.
Ranged Damage: 2.5. Composite Longbow and Defiant Challenge.
Sage: 4. 8 Int. Nah.
Scout: 3.5. See below.
Thief: 3.5. Not really, but appearing to be quite young and having an instantly summonable Weapon/Armor could have some applications here.
Summoner: 4. Nah.
Trapfinder: 3. Infinite out of combat healing and great Ref save.

Other Misc Information: Due to the highly variable aspects of Illuminations and Radiant Armaments, I will be detailing them here. Ava has 10 motes available to her, and they refresh at the beginning of each round. (Also, I like spell quotes. They're cool, even if they're super hammy. >_>)
ILLUMINATIONS:
Blasts:
Gravity Swing (Tremors, Assault) - 1-5 Motes
"The time has come...crash down on the wicked! Gravity Swing!"
As an attack action, Ava can channel this blast through her device. If it hits, she deals damage with her device as normal and the opponent is knocked away from her [5 feet * number of motes spent], falls prone, and takes 1d6 damage for every 10' they move. If their movement is stopped before completion, they take 1d6 damage for every 5' they would have moved.
Defiant Challenge (Lures, Challenge 3) - 5 Motes
"Bright light, shine down on holy impurity! Defiant Challenge!"
As a standard action, Ava can select up to three creatures within 40'. If at any point in the next 3 rounds they deal damage to or force a saving throw from any creature other than Ava, Ava may immediately smite them as a free action, moving them 25' towards her, knocking them prone, and dealing 1d6 damage for every 10' they move. If their movement is stopped before completion, they take 1d6 damage for every 5' they would have moved. This strikes unerringly, regardless of distance, even if they are invisible or behind a wall.
Barriers:
Gravity Well (Shelter, Strongholds 1, Pilgrimage 1) - 2-5 Motes
"Shining light, shield us from evil! Gravity Well!"
As a move action, Ava can create a 5' radius zone of increased gravity centered anywhere within 40'. Anyone within the radius of this Illumination gains a +3 cover bonus to AC and a +1 cover bonus to Reflex saves against attacks and bursts from outside the radius. If at least 4 motes are spent on this Illumination, they instead gain a +4 bonus to AC, and a +2 bonus to Reflex saves.
Airstep Ramparts (Barricades, Borders 1, Ancients 1) - 4-5 Motes
"Destiny lies in my hands! Stop movement! Airstep Ramparts!"
As a move action, Ava can create a 10' high, 1" thick, 15' long pane of semi-solid air within 40'. This effect last for 2 rounds. It can be oriented vertically or horizontally, and if you are not trying to pass through it you can interact with it as if it were a normal, solid object. If you attempt to force your way through it, it takes 15' of movement instead of 5'. This cost can be ignored by making a DC 18 strength check.
Surges:
Healing Link (Resolve, Bolts 2) - 5 Motes
"Life's refreshing breeze, blow in energy! Healing Link!"
As a swift action, Ava can make a ranged touch attack against two targets within 30', healing them for 5d6 points of damage. Willing targets are hit automatically. After benefiting from this effect, creatures can only be healed again after one minute (10 rounds).
Energy Drive (Might, Awakening, Echoes 1) - 3-5 Motes
"Armor won't help the heart stay sharp! Energy Drive!"
As a swift action, Ava can give herself a +4 Enhancement bonus to Strength for 2 rounds. She can only target herself with this illumination.
RADIANT ARMAMENTS:
Device:
Granzon Maul (Mighty, Enhanced, Oversized), 2d12 Damage, Bludgeoning, Two Handed, 32 lbs
"Earth's anger running through my arms! Granzon Maul!"
Granzon Maul is a +1 Sudden Stunning Mighty Device, with the Enhanced and Oversized imbuements. Because it is a Mighty device, she may sacrifice the rest of her attacks for the round in a full attack to multiply the damage of her first attack by 1+the number of sacrificed attacks. Four times per day, after a successful melee attack, Ava may take a swift action to force the enemy to make a DC 16 Reflex save or be stunned for 1d4+1 rounds. Ava may summon or dismiss the Granzon Maul with a move action, or may compress or expand it from a small ornate orb as a free action. If she loses this orb, she can spend 1d4+1 hours looking for it and will unerringly find it, regardless of the implausibility. Gives a +2 Circumstance bonus on Intimidate checks.
Enhanced - This imbuement gives the Granzon Maul an enhancement bonus of +1, with an additional +1 for every 3 motes invested. When attacking with the Granzon Maul, Ava typically has 3 motes invested, making it a +3 Sudden Stunning Mighty Device. If she spends a cartridge, she can swap these enhancement bonuses out for an equivalent number of weapon special abilities. This lasts for four rounds.
Oversized - This imbuement doubles the base damage of the Granzon Maul, from 1d12 to 2d12. For every 2 motes invested, Ava gets a +1 bonus on trip and bull rush checks. Ava typically does not have any motes invested in this imbuement. If she spends a cartridge, she can pin an enemy she has just tripped. The strength check to get out is equal to her strength check +2, and this lasts for four rounds. She cannot use the Granzon Maul while using this ability.
Costume:
Granzon Plate (Heavy), +9 AC, -3 ACP, 20' land speed, 25 lbs
"No more loss of precious life! Granzon Plate!"
Granzon Plate is a +1 Heavy Costume. Nothing much to say here.
