I'd like to make a set of shoes that confers True Strike on a use-activated basis. I followed the rulings in the DMG page 285 (it's also found here) and I believe that the conditions adding to its cost will be: Spell level, 1 Caster level, 1 Continuous/Use-activated, *2000 Uncustomary space limitation, *1.5 Duration, since it is not based on rounds/lvl, minutes/lvl, or 10 minutes/lvl, *1 This nets a cost of 3000gp. I am aware of the level of cheese.

As you said, this is cheesey. Really cheesey. I would not approve this.

Dang. What if it's only usable once per turn?

No, thats still waaay to powerful. I might be ok if it were limited by uses per day, but even then, it'd have to be no more than like, 3, Tops

After much consideration: I'd prefer 5 since that's the break-even point cost-wise of putting charges per day. But I just checked my next purchase Rod of Metamagic, Enlarge (lesser) and it's also 3/day. So I'll be happy with whatever your ruling is. I'm still on the fence of deciding between Slix or Ray Ray. I guess it'll depend on how Youngdead plays out. *cough* *cough* =)

Also, you'd need to include the increased cost for having an effect that doesn't match with the typical footwear effect.

The extra 1000gp was worth it for the name.

I would say that this should be minimum caster level of 3. In fact making that a blanket rule for the entire site for magic item creation as level 3 is the earliest you can make these magic items anyway. That raises it to 9000gp cost for 5/day true strike. Which is still stupidly powerful, in particular if you can buff damage in an attack you could easily one shot BBEGs. But it doesn't stink of the smelliest cheese around anymore.
