Personality:
Ílios has a sunny disposition most of the time. So much so, that there is little anyone can do to upset him, almost to an annoying degree. He takes what people say in the best possible way. As long as he can see the sun there is hope in his heart. Though, days with heavy cloud cover and rain can make him a little irritable. He is honest to a fault, and it has got him into trouble a couple of times. When dealing with those who have done wrong, he asks them to give up their evil ways one last time before showing them his merciless light. He is very strict about the one second chance. In no situation will more than one be given.
Appearance:
Ílios is a little tall for an elf, but that may be due to his bloodline. He has medium length, golden hair, with eyes of the same color. His skin, once pale, how has a light bronze hue from all of his time spent underneath the greatest star. He wears an ornate cloak, of pure white cloth, trimmed with red, with a symbol of a giant sun on the back.
History:
Firstborn son of house Sol, Ílios was his parents third child after his two sisters. His mother desperate for son to carry on the family, sought out the help of one of the elusive fox-folk, hoping that it would produce an heir. The price however was that the son would not be of his father's making. After some convincing his mother bred with the creature in elf form, and several months later, revealed that she was with child.
Ílios's earliest years went by smoothly. That was, until his mother was on her deathbed, stricken with an odd disease at far to young an age. Before she died, she revealed her treachery to his father, Talos Septim, head of his clan. Saddened by his wife's death, and outraged her betrayal, he did the unthinkable. You see, the sun elf's were a prideful people, and his mothers deception had wounded his "father's" pride. The next morning he called young Ílios, and by elven standards he was young, just past his 30th nameday, to a meeting of his people, where he striped him of his name and position in the house, and cursed him to be Ílios the Son of No One for the rest of his days.
His eldest sister, Lisara, sided with his father, but his youngest sister, Marris, took pity on him. She too was an outcast of sorts, as she served a god not of the elven pantheon, Amaunator. The gave him food and a steed and sent him on his way out of his former father's lands, to a temple of her god in the city of Silverymoon. On the seventh day of his journey to the moon elf capital he was ambushed by brigands who swiftly dismounted him, and took the remained of his food. As he watched them ride away into the noon sun, he was drawn to it. His gaze did not leave the greatest source of light for at least three hours before he collapsed of exhaustion in to a strangely vivid dream.
The setting was the road on which he was traveling, and the time the same as well. He saw himself getting robbed of all he had in the world, and first sadness, then fury overwhelmed him. The scene seemed to rewind and replayed again. This time he willed his dream self to fight the bandits, but failed miserably, everything being taken from him once again. He saw himself staring at the sun, and his consciousness looked upon it as well. Then the sun came rushing at him at an astonishing speed. It transformed into the shape of an elf made of pure sunlight, and asked, "Do you wish for revenge?" and Ílios replied, "No."
The being laughed amusingly and said, "Is that so, Ílios, Son of No One? Then what is it that you seek?" and Ílios replied, "I wish to not be alone. That the sun could be my companion, so that every day, I knew it would return and not abandon me." After his answer, the elf of golden light sat in silence for several heated moments before speaking again. "Then follow the path set before you," it said before blinking out of existence.
His dream was suddenly pitch black, and then a stream of golden light appeared at his feat extending into the blackness. He followed the light, and came upon a forest. The steam of light continued into the forest and he followed it for what felt like three days, weaving though the forest, and observing the realm before him. Then, before him appeared a white lion with a golden mane. He chased after the beast and came upon a clearing in a circle of trees. The path dissipated and, the sun shone above his head. The lion lay in the clearing as if Ílios wasn't even there. He took a moment to look around and went to a stump of an ancient tree in the middle of the clearing. The lion approached and Ílios extended his hand to the beast. When he touched it he felt a wave of calm overtake him and the lion began to glow the same color as the elf made of light. The light then separated in to two parts. One a cloak of pure sunlight that placed it self on his shoulders, and the other an strangly shaped golden bracer with an awkward extension that appeared on his arm. As he looked at the items he wore a rectangle of light appeared before him and said, "I am Ryko, The Sun's Vengance, and I shall serve you for as long as you wish."
Abruptly, Ílios awoke from his dream to find himself in the center of a very real forest. He heard the snapping of a twig, the whining of a horse, and the sounds of men. As he went to investigate, he recognized the brigands from before. He though to himself, there was no way that his could be chance, could there? He truly did not wish for vengeance on these men, but neither could he step away from them, knowing what they had done to him. So he stepped out of hiding, a new surge of confidence and justice in him. "Oh look boys, its the prissy elf from earlier, wonder what he thinks he can do." One of the men spoke and the rest laughed. Ílios spoke with conviction, "If you give back what you have taken, no harm will come to you." The man, who must of been their leader replied, "What do you think boys, should we be scared?" One of the men in the back yelled, "Show 'em boss." The man approached Ílios and said, "If you leave without another word, no harm will come to YOU. Haha." Out of nowhere the cloak of light and the bracer from his dream appeared on him and he spoke, "As the sun as my witness, you have chosen to follow the path of darkness." A rectangle of light appears in Ílios's right hand, and as he speaks, he moves it toward the bracer and declares, "I call forth Ryko, The Sun's Vengance!" After the rectangle of light touches the bracers appendage, A great white lion with a golden mane appears before the brigand leader and pounces towards him, severing one half of his body from the waist up with a slash of its mighty claw. The rest of the bandits flee in panic as the lion approaches them, and Ílios calls out, "That is enough Ryko, they have seen the error of their ways.
That was the first time that Ílios used his new found power. He made his way to Silverymoon afterwards and went to the Temple of Amaunator that his sister mentioned. He shared with them the story of his dream and his journey, and they welcomed him with open arms. As he stayed at the temple, he explored the city of Silverymoon. He eventually enlisted in the guard for the city, sharing the strength of his light with them, and in turn his light grew. He had more dreams, and more companions came to his aid. He came to refer to them as his Lightsworn, entities that served the unyielding light of the world.Threads:
