Adventure Title: In Search of Knowledge
Adventure Level: ECL 5
Number of Players: Remose, Myth'Rik and Dioniclus Start Season: Late Alturiak/Early Ches Start Location: The City of Yartar
Remosa had been travelling for a long time to reach Waterdeep, for whatever their reason, a Mantis Warrior and a Classy Warforged had joined him in his travels, each with their own motives, whatever the reason for each of them going to waterdeep, they were soon going to reach it, they were finally so close to the grand magic academy, the Watchful Order.
Yartar was a fairly fortified city, yet it was lacking in the way of good establishments, still the local inn was acceptable and the group spent the last night before reaching waterdeep there, in the morning the jolly man that was the innkeeper offered a table for breakfast as they were walking down the stairs -"We dont have a lot of variety or quality, but please, serve yourselves whatever you wish."- he pointed at a table where several varied dishes were placed for the many people also coming down from their rooms.

Userkaaf strode haughtily down the stairs, dismissing the innkeepers politeness by pointedly ignoring the man. He was still irritated at the jolly human for not allowing him to bring his falcon into the inn. He stalked over to the breakfast table, his leg almost giving out underneath him. The old wound from when it was stepped on hard by his imbecilic tribe leader, almost snapping the bone. Remose scowled at a plump dwarvish woman who was going for the same sausage as him with considerably more anger than he truly felt towards her, causing her to shrink back in shock. Retreating with his breakfast to a private table in the far corner of the room, Remose absentmindedly gestured for his two companions to join him. He was busy thoroughly examining the plate of sausages and toast, muttering some phrases in Draconic and lazily waving his fingers a few inches above the food. Userkaaf is casting Detect Poison on the food. I don't actually think you're going to poison us, mind, but he's a paranoid guy.

Myth'Rik heads downstairs for some grub. These city people seemed to know how to cook. Much better than what he could make on the road anyways. He grabs quite a bit of food for himself. He joins Remose with his meal, three sausages, a whole loaf of hard bread, and couple of apples, plus some type of juice finally satiated Myth'Riks hunger. One never knew when food was going to be scarce, better to eat up when you could. Myth'Rik then speaks, "Sleep well, yes. Need good rest for travel. We go far today. Myth'Rik ready. Head out soon."

Dioniclus found inns and places of food and drink strange still. He had the apparatus that allowed him to eat and drink, but he never used it. In fact he had long though about replacing those components with something more efficient, like perhaps more energy cores. Still observing the organic creatures as they went about their business was interesting and amusing at the same time. He noted with amusement Userkaaf casting some sort of spell over his food. Myth'Rik came downstairs to join them, digging into his food as well. <Draconic>" Indeed, we should make some decent time if we prepare well. This world of yours is fascinating and full of surprises, albeit rather primitive."</draconic> Not sure if my Eberron Common and Old Common translate into the Faerun Common. So I speak in Draconic, which Userkaaf can understand and he can translate to Myth'Rik for me.

At around that time, the doors slam open, an elven kind using his bow as a staff comes in, its easy to see he is an adventurer of some kind, the myriad of clearly magic items, spellbook and overall simply standing out from the crowd, he also recognizes your group and he...
(yays congratulations, you can finally post IC, have fun!)

Even though his face has a bit of weathering from his latest wanderings, you can tell he's quite young, perhaps barely an adult. Irritated that I was unable to gain more information, I chalk that up to a learning experience and figure even with my limited skills I might be able to figure something out. Observing the group I sit down looking at Userkaaf, "Well, I suppose it's nice that you can't judge a book by it's cover can you?"
Turning to Dioniclus, "I guess I haven't seen everything yet. I hope your not offended that I have no idea what you are. I'm Keryth...."
Waiting a few moments, then asking the group in general, "So do you have business with the Watchful Order?"

Remose's eye widened at the scarcely veiled insult, his fork stopping halfway to his mouth and slowly drooping downwards to his plate. All of a sudden his face broke out into a wide forced smile, an expression almost more disturbing than his usual scowl.
"Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover, actually. Such as when that cover consists of a smug little elven face leering down at you when you're trying to eat your breakfast. Not that we've come across many of those lately, have we Myth'Rik?" He growled, winking obnoxiously at the thri'kreen. "Of course, most of the pixie bastards aren't the bearers of such good news. Yes, in fact, we do have business with the Watchful Order. I was heading over to Waterdeep with my associates here in the hopes of joining up." His eye narrowed in suspicion. "How did you know?"

Myth'Rik watches the spat with amusement and laugh's with some jovial clicking noises followed by a series of quick clicks in Thri-kreen, that translates well to "heh, pixie bastards". Elves were almost as bad as humans when it came to arrogance, on second thought, Myth'Rik decides that they may actually be worse. Not that arrogance was a bad thing, but when it defines one's race above most other things, then there was little room for individual improvement. Thinking that his had gone off long enough, not wanting it to escalate, and with his stomach bloated from the hearty meal, not wanting to jump between them, Myth'Rik finally says to Userkaff, "Safety with Number. More people. Less risk." Then referring to everyone, "All calm. Journey young. Myth'Rik filled. Time to leave. Day turns Night. Go to Deep Water." He then stands and heads to the barkeep and slides him five silver. "Myth'Rik leave in ten. More juice. More food. Ready for travel. Keep rest."

Laying down a copy of the bounty on the table softly, "Because everybody who's anybody has business with the order nowadays. I hear they are a very select group, wouldn't want to allow somebody to join unless they had something to offer. What better way to show them you belong in the order than bringing in a rouge mage after all. Now I'm no member of the order of course, I hear they don't allow bastards. But as long as they make good on a reward and the thievery stops I don't mind, do you?" Relaxing a bit with a smile, "Please know I meant no personal insult, I just don't see many of your kind that's not raiding and pillaging as opposed to enjoying a perfectly good meal surrounded by fine company. I've been trying to figure out these break-ins myself, but of course there's little I can do about it myself".
