Personality:Nardin suffers many of the same characteristics of his brethren. He is arrogant, self-involved, and distrusting. However, he doesn't prefer to be in the spotlight either, but rather enjoys the role of the quiet sage in the background, listening, observing, and most importantly, learning. He is not quick to judge, though when his mind is made up it's nearly impossible to sway his decision. Never is he quick to anger, always preferring to take a more calm, calculated look at the matter.
Though he's usually quiet and tends to keep to himself, he is quite charismatic, and if prodded, can be quite sociable.
Appearance:He wears simple robes, always with his hood up in attempt shield his eyes (and more importantly his heritage) unless under the safety and comfort of thousands of tons of rocks. He wears a thick mane of bleach white hair, with a rich gold set of eyes. He has a soothing, almost melodic voice, like that of a mother singing a lullaby to her babe. He stands at 5'8", with obsidian skin, and always, that stoic look on his face.
History: Nardin was born a noble, as the second-boy of House Ceno'sef. Almost immediately he showed signs of great intelligence, and was planned , when he came of age, to be trained as a mage. At a very young age, as Nardin was wandering the light-less tunnels of the underdark, during one of the many times he'd sneak out of his city, he witnessed the power of an illithid as one single-handedly destroyed an entire patrol group of no less than 5 skilled drow warriors. He was fascinated with the ease of which the master of the mind bent the poor troupe's will to his whim, and more so at the strange familiarity and understanding he felt with the illithid's power. After returning home, he immediately reported the incident to his mother. Matron Mother Ceno'sef, having grown wise with her age, listened to the story intently, especially when Nardin described the familiarity he felt with the power. She noted the excitement within him as he finished his tale. A wide evil grin slowly spread on her face, as she ordered all but Nardin from the room. His mother revealed to him that the Ceno'sef bloodline was sprinkled with psionic talent, also that she herself was born with the gift, though as a female drow, she was too preoccupied with her studies as a priestess of Lolth to further her psionic abilities anywhere past the basic grasp she had on it now. "It has become clear to me, with what you have described, that you as well posses the talent," she said, and with that same evil grin added "though unlike me, you have all the time you need to expand your knowledge." She then informed him that he was to immediately abandon his arcane studies, and begin private lessons with her in which she imparted all of her psionic experience to him. "I have given all I have to offer you," Matron Ceno'sef explained after one of their numerous sessions "the rest is up to you. I now give you leave from our city, indeed the underdark itself. You are to go to the surface and hone your skills to perfection. It may take 10 years or it may take 100, but only when you are strong will you be of any use to me." The evil glare she threw Nardin's way made a shiver go down his spine as she added "You will not fail me in this one. Your sacrilegious beliefs have already brought shame on my house, if you embarrass me further..." she let it go at that, letting Nardin know, in no uncertain terms, what his fate would be if he could not obtain his mothers desired power. Despite the serious threat, Nardin could not hide the grin from his face. He stepped out under the star-lit sky nearly a tenday later, determined to master the power of his mind.
